Dr Beth Russ

I believe my role of an obstetrician is to guide, reassure & allow nature to take its course but to know when to step in if nature needs a helping hand.

For my gynaecological patients I believe the ability to listen & offer a holistic approach to their concerns is the most important goal & I try to achieve this for each patient.

Dr Beth Russ

Dr Russ was born & raised in Adelaide and achieved her MBBS from Adelaide University in 1996. After completing her internship & resident years at Flinders Medical Centre, WCH & TQEH respectively she commenced training to become an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist. Over the 6 year training program she worked throughout metropolitan Adelaide and spent 12 months in Mt Gambier on rural placement. In her final year of training she pursued an interest in the management of complex female urinary disorders including expertise in Urodynamics. Dr Russ became a fellow of the RANZCOG in January 2006.

After taking 6 months maternity leave with her first child she then commenced private practice in association with Dr Anna Bof and 'North East Women's Health' was born.

Dr Russ delivers babies at North Eastern Community Hospital. At the hospital she holds the position of O&G representative on the Medical Executive Committee and Critical Care Committee. She is also an active member of the Perinatal Committee. In addition to her private practice, Dr Russ is a Senior Visiting Medical Specialist at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

Over the past 11 years Dr Russ has had the privilege of helping women & couples become parents. She manages infertility, all aspects of pregnancy including patients who are low risk & those with complex medical needs. She also offers comprehensive gynaecological care to women of all ages.

From the moment I did my O&G term as a 5th year medical student I knew this was what I would end up doing, I just "got it". I feel truly blessed to be able to do what I do. I cried the very first time I saw a baby being born & that feeling never goes away.'

On a personal note Beth met her husband Jeremy when they were both working at TQEH as junior doctors. Together they have 2 very loud sons. She loves to travel, read and kickbox. Most recently she has become addicted to 'Suits' on Netflix.
