Changes at the rooms due to COVID-19

Our utmost priority is to continue to provide the highest quality of care to all or patients during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Taking into account recommendations from RANZCOG, SA Health & the Federal Government we have been implementing further changes as to how we run things at the rooms.

“Team based” consulting

  1. We will now work in 2 completely separate teams consisting of an obstetrician / midwife & receptionist in each team. The teams will consult on separate days with no crossover. The theory being that even if one team is out of action due to isolation or sickness then other team is still able to care for you.

  2. The rooms will remain open for the usual consulting hours and phone calls / enquiries will be answered in the first instance by the midwife in the rooms for the day regardless of which Obstetrician you are booked with. If required the midwife will speak with your booked Obstetrician.

  3. The flow on effect is that we need to prioritise our face to face appointments which will result in the following:

    • new schedule of antenatal face to face & telehealth appointments. SMS & emails are being sent to patients with the updates
    • reduced time of face to face appointments (advice is to keep to < 15mins)
    • Please only bring your partner / support person if absolutely essential
    • telehealth appointments for most non-urgent / non-procedural gynaecological appointments

Cancellation of non-urgent Gynaecological surgery

Following the federal government & state government announcements on 31st March all non-urgent gynaecological surgery will be cancelled. Patients will be contacted accordingly & waitlisted for future dates.

Please note this DOES NOT include caesarean sections. Caeserean sections will continue as normal.

“Drive by” flu vaccines

Now available & free for all current Obstetric patients. Recommended at any gestation. If you do not have a scheduled face to face appointment within the next 2 weeks please contact the rooms to organise a time to come by for your flu vaccine.
